Henderson County's 7-day rolling rate for COVID-19 hit 25.9 for the week of Oct. 14 - Oct. 21. This is the highest rate among the seven-county NET Health region.
The rolling rate is the average daily number of all COVID-positive cases per 100,000 population.
The county's rolling rate to start the month was 14.68, so there has been a definite increase in cases.
There has also been spike in deaths, with seven new fatalities recorded so far in October. Henderson County now stands at 31 COVID deaths, according to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
This week, Henderson County Judge Wade McKinney and I spoke about the
COVID-19 spike in both our county and hospital region. You can listen to that podcast here. The COVID discussion starts at the 9:35 mark.
